Celebrating Misty & Corey's
15th Wedding Anniversary In Milwaukee
You actually can survive winter in the upper Midwest. Who knew?

What's Happening
In short, we're throwing a party on Saturday, January 6, 2024 in our adopted hometown of Milwaukee. We've got private space at one of the best bars in the city, Von Trier, where we'll have music, dinner, and, of course, a bar.
Below is a rough schedule as well as a list of common questions that get asked and the overly wordy and annoyingly pendantic responses they deserve.
Shit We're Doing
Friday, January 5, 2023
7PM - Welcome To Town Drinks
Everyone is welcome to join us in the basement bar for beverages and social interactions of varying quality. You're welcome to have dinner before, bring something with you, or have something delivered. Reach out if you have questions or would like suggestions.

12PM (or whenever) - Choose Your Own Adventure
There are a number of options for things to choose from to occupy your time on a Saturday afternoon. In deference to the weather, all of these options are indoors so that the human popcicles case against us isn't reopened at an inopportune time. Here's some things you can pick from:
Less Drinking:
- Mitchell Park Domes - Their Holiday Snow Globe exhibit runs through January 7.
- Miller Brewing Tour - A guided walk through the facilities that started it all, and also where Misty works!
- Best Place @ The Pabst Brewery - A bit of history, a bit of beer. Think of this as a hybrid option.
- National Bobblehead Hall of Fame & Museum - Keeping it weird in Milwaukee.
- The Pabst Mansion - A historical view of the architecture that defined the city.
- Milwaukee Public Museum - A well-rounded musuem featuring holiday displays that will be remain available.
- Frank Lloyd Wright's Homes - Check out the creations of one of America's iconic architects. Reservations recommended.
- A Nap - This is going to be a thing.
Moar Drinking:
- Company Brewing - In our neighborhood. They have good beers.
- Black Husky Brewing - Also in our neighborhood. Also has good beers.
- Amorphic Beer - North side of the neighborhood. Where some of the good beer lives.
- Dead Bird Brewing - Adjacent to our neighborhood. They have good beers, too.
- Eagle Park Brewing - Also adjacent to our neighborhood. Also has good beers, too.
- Y-Not II - One of the bars in the city that opens at 6am, should that be something that you find yourself in need of.
7PM - Dinner @ Von Trier
The main event. Appetizers and dinner will be served throughout the evening along with an open bar and High Life toast. Bring your comfy pants.
Appetizers:
- Fresh Wisconsin Cheese Curds - House-made beer batter.
- Schweineschwarten - Fresh house-made pork rinds.
- Jumbo Bavarian Pretzels - Served with beer cheese and mustard
- Veggie & Hummus Tray
Dinner:
- Bratwurst Bar - Locally made beer brats with pretzel buns and fixins.
- Pork Schnitzel - With house-made mushroom Jager sauce.
- Brussel Sprouts - With bacon, of course.
- Spaetzle - 'Nuff said.
- Fresh Roasted Seasonal Vegetables
- Crispy Smashed Potatoes
- Mini Cheesecakes - Choose from Vanilla, Lemon, Salted Caramel, or Strawberry.
We're working with the kitchen team on confirming a few of those items as well as gathering allergen information. We'll provide everyone an update on those items in advance of the party.
FAQs
- January? In Milwaukee? Are you insane?
- Sure, but what about my borderline-puritanical hatred of cold and snow?
- Fine. But I'm going to need a drink.
- Great. Anything else I should plan for?
- Are we going to attempt to overthrow anything?
- Do you have a gift preference or registry?
Yes, but hear us out.
It will very likely be cold outside. If you're lucky, there will even be snow! But this is a feature, not a bug; bring a coat and enjoy a city that is built for winter weather. Even when it's really, really cold, we'll be hanging out somewhere that will make you warm.
Suck it up, buttercup. We're worth it. 😘
Ah, here you've stumbled across the point! Congratulations.
We'll have a dinner menu and open full bar available for all of your needs, and for all of your poor choices desires, too. Think of it as a dinner party where you don't have to do any prep work.
We'll be planning something for Friday evening and will have a list of things to explore on Saturday before dinner, including time in our basement bar. Details on those things will be shared as we get closer and, uh, figure out what they are.
Nope.
In lieu of gifts, please consider a donation to one of the causes near to us.
